sikhs-an-american-portrait: Brothers and Sister, Phoenix, AZ 2009 Deep, Rose and Satpreet Sodhi sitting by their pool to show me their long uncut hair (or Kesh as it is known in Punjabi.) A Sikh's uncut hair is very symbolic of the equality between men and women in the Sikh religion. While this ideal of equality is not always true in practice, the next generation is bridging the education gap that exists in their parent’s and grandparent’s generations.
